| Description: | Evenly dense and curly coat. Belly may be less curly. Guard hairs to be greatly reduced. The coat has less of a shine than expected for a rat with a standard coat - but it should not look unusually dull. Texture of coat to be coarser then that of the classic coat type but it should not be so excessively brittle or rough that it is unpleasant to touch. Whiskers to be curled and somewhat shorter than in standard rats. |
| Status: | This variety is recognised in UK rat clubs with the name "rex" |
