Other names: Opal, British Blue Agouti
Genetics: Agouti with the dilute gene (A-dd). As with blue, blue agouti can be a range of shades from very dark to pale, almost lavender. The preferred shade in the UK is that produced with a darker blue.
Description: An attractive blend of mid-blue ticking over a medium fawn ground. Undercolour to be blue down to the skin. Belly colour silver. Feet dove grey. Ears and tail to be covered with blue hairs. A brown tinge will be judged as a fault. Eyes black.
Status: This colour is recognised in all rat clubs with the name Blue Agouti
